FAQ
1. I'd like to see The Watchmen perform
before booking, is this possible? Yes this is possible. If you give us a
call on : Telephone & Fax: +44 (0) 1446 754350 or Mobile: +44(0)
7966 151584 we can discuss the nearest gig to you and when it would be
appropriate for you to come. We can also arrange to send out a demo CD or
DVD.
2. How
long does the act need to set-up? We usually allow 1 hour to set-up.
This leaves enough time to cope with any problems The Watchmen might encounter
and to ensure the volume levels are set appropriately.
3. Can The Watchmen supply background music or a
disco? The Watchmen can supply
appropriate background music between sets (No additional charge) or a ‘manned’
disco at an additional charge.
4. Due to the schedule of the event, the room is
only free for the band to set up earlier on in the day - is this a
problem? No. This is a common
problem and we are used to waiting around after setting up, however there
will be an additional charge for and early
build.
5. Will the band require a dressing room and
refreshments? A dressing room is a
good idea as it means the The Watchmen and their crew can be out of sight when
you're guests arrive, and it is usually a good place to store all the extra
cases, boxes and costumes etc. As the band usually has to travel to the event -
sometimes the band and crew are on the road for 15 hours in a day and
will be waiting around once set-up, they would be very grateful for any
refreshments you can provide.
6. How long does the band play
for? Ordinarily 2 x 45 minute sets. However should you
wish The Watchmen to play for longer, or different timed sets (i.e. 1 1/2 hours
solid / 3 x 1/2 hours or any other combination or length of performance you
specify) this is not a problem and can be discussed with the band prior to the
event.
7. It’s our wedding - will the The Watchmen take
requests or play our first dance? The Watchmen would be pleased to perform your
choice of 'first dance' song, providing they are notified within 4 weeks of the
performance. If the band is unable to perform the song owing to the instrumental
lay out (orchestra / piano etc) then Aubrey will perform the song using backing
tracks. On the night, the band will try their best to accommodate any requests.
8. Does the band provide the sound system and
lighting? Yes the latest digital PA
system which can be adapted to suit almost any size room. Lighting is also
provided.
9. How much space
does The Watchmen need? The
Watchmen will be as flexible as possible when it comes to all matters involving
your event. With regards to stage-size the same applies, however it is
preferable that a minimum space of approximately 5m x 7m' is provided. However
we will Endeavour to fit into any space provided.
10. How far will The Watchmen
travel? The UK and into
Europe.
11. How much does the band cost? Please contact us for details.
12. Are there any other practical requirements we
need to think about? It is always a
good idea to make sure there are enough electrical sockets available. Four
double 13 amp sockets are a sensible amount to work from. Another factor to
consider is access. If the room being used is upstairs or a long way from
vehicle access it is important that we are informed in advance as this may
affect setting up times and the package price. The same goes for open air
functions. We will need to know in advance if it is a marquee and if there is
good access for our vehicles (i.e. appropriate road tracking if the ground is
wet). In addition we will also need to know if there is sufficient space and
access for our van / tour bus – it is
important that you consult with us regarding this matter.
13. The venue
that the event is being held at has asked that the band supplies copies of their
insurance and electrical equipment P.A.T. certificates – What are
these? It is common these days for
venues to ensure that any outside contractor using electrical equipment on their
premises carry at least £5million public liability insurance and they have a
certificate proving that all their electrical equipment has been tested for
safety. We will happily supply copies of both certificates to the venue on
request.
