Weddings.

Introduction.

Your wedding is the one of the most important days of your life - you should have total control over everything that happens - that includes the entertainment. With Aubrey, you specify the type of music, the first dance and even a whole play-list that Aubrey will perform. The stage show consists of state of the art sound technology and lighting which allows Aubrey to choose any of his 5500 backing tracks at the drop of a hat. Below you will find an example of artists and songs that Aubrey can perform, we have also published an FAQ tailored for weddings. If you have ANY songs in mind, just let Aubrey know and he will make sure he can perform them for you on YOUR special day.

Example of songs:

Everything by the Rat Pack, Robbie Williams, Elton John, Jamie Cullum, Michael Buble, The Darkness, Harry Connick Jnr, The Blues Brothers, The Commitments, The Quo, Madness, Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Songs from the West End, Songs from 1920's right up to all current chart hits, James Blunt, Coldplay, Keiser Cheifs, Ordinary Boys, U2, etc. The list is endless - BASICALLY YOU NAME IT HE'LL PLAY IT! - That's why they call him 'The Human JukeBox'

Wedding FAQ's

1 . I'd like to see Aubrey perform before booking, is this possible?
Yes this is possible. If you give us a call on 01446 754 350 we can discuss the nearest gig to you and when it would be appropriate for you to come. We can also arrange to send out a demo CD or DVD.

2 . How long does the act need to set-up?
We Usually allow 1 hour to set-up. This leaves enough time to cope with any problems Aubrey might encounter and to ensure the volume levels are set appropriately.

3 . Can Aubrey supply background music or a disco?
Aubrey can supply appropriate background music between sets (FOC) or a disco at an additional cost.

4 . Due to the schedule of the wedding, the room is only free earlier on in the day - is this a problem?
No. This is a common problem and we are used to waiting around after setting up.

5 . Will the band require a dressing room and refreshments?
A dressing room is a good idea as it means the Aubrey and his crew can be out of sight when you're guests arrive, and it is usually a good place to store all the extra cases, boxes and costumes etc. As Aubrey usually has to travel to the event, and will be waiting around once set-up, he and the crew would be very grateful for any refreshments you might provide.

6. How long does he play for?
Ordinarily 2 x 45 minute sets. This is taken from an extensive list of over 5500 songs and is usually tailor-made for your event, depending on the age range and tastes of your guests. However, should you wish Aubrey to play for longer, or different timed sets (i.e. 1 1/2 hours solid / 3 x 1/2 hours or any other combination or length of performance you specify) this is not a problem and can be discussed with Aubrey prior to the event..

7. Will the Aubrey take requests or play our first dance?
Aubrey would be pleased to sing your choice of 'first dance' song, providing he is notified within two weeks of the performance. On the night, he will try his best to accommodate any requests. It's not very often people catch him out with a song he can't do!!!

8. Does the Aubrey provide the sound system and lighting?
Yes. The latest digital PA system which can be adapted to suit almost any size room. Lighting is also provided.

9. How much space will Aubrey need?
Aubrey will be as flexible as possible when it comes to all matters involving your event. With regards to stage-size the same applies, however it is advisable that a minimum space of approximately 3m x 1.5m' is provided.

10. How far will Aubrey travel?
All over the UK and into Europe.

11 . How much does he cost?

Package A (Vocal)
Vocal performance including stage lighting and incidental music:
Monday – Thursday = Call for pricing
Friday - Sunday = Call for pricing

Package B (Vocal + Disco)
Vocal performance including stage lighting and full disco:
Monday – Thursday = Call for pricing
Friday – Sunday = Call for pricing

Package C (Daytime & Evening Entertainment)
Daytime / Church (Wedding breakfast / daytime reception) vocal
performance from Aubrey.
A performance of soft and gentle songs of your choice plus any
incidental music & use of P.A. for wedding speeches / announcements.
Evening reception with Aubrey and full disco.
Monday – Thursday = Call for pricing
Friday – Sunday = Call for pricing

12. Are there any other practical requirements we need to think about?
It is always a good idea to make sure there are enough electrical sockets available. Three sockets is a sensible amount to work from.
Another factor to consider is access. If the room being used is upstairs or a long way from vehicle access we appreciate knowing this in advance.

Aubrey Parsons - The Human Jukebox

Aubrey Parsons has a rare talent. He can sing any style of music; Pop, Swing, Jazz, Rock, Opera, Musicals, folk - you name it, he will sing it. Using state of the art technology, Aubrey is able to sing any one of his 5500 songs at the drop of a hat. Whatever music you or audience likes, he can play it. Seeing him perform is a new experience for most people. He will often call to the audience to shout out their most loved song or performer, Aubrey will then immediately play that song (providing it is appropriate of course). That is probably why he is one of the most popular wedding entertainers in the UK today.

He has been performing as a singer since the age of 13 when he joined his first band. Back then, he used to play guitar and sing, but he decided that doing both was a bit like trying to stoke your head and pat your tummy at the same time, so the guitar had to go....

By the time he was 17 he was performing with his band 'The Watchmen' and 20 years later that band is still going strong!

Aubrey started performing as a solo singer (as well as continuing in bands) around 10 years ago. He realised that many venues were cutting back on the amount of money they were spending on entertainment, so it was easier to get gigs as a solo artist. During that time, he worked for Roland (UK) Ltd as Artist Liaison Manager. It was his job to get high profile bands using the company's products. He worked closely with 'The Stereophonics', Catatonia, Sting, Midge Ure and many other high profile bands. From this, he became friends with ex-Ultraxvox front-man Midge Ure.

From Midge Ure  to Damon Hill and beyond...

In 2001, Aubrey was contacted by Midge Ure who asked him to perform at a gig North Wales. The idea behind the gig was to showcase Midge's musical career over the years. Not many people know, but for a while, Midge was with Thin Lizzy, and with that in mind, Aubrey was asked to sing 'Boys are back in town'.

A number of the musicians that worked with Midge used to be in the band 'Big Country' and they also worked with Ex Formula One racing Driver - Damon Hill.

A short while later, Aubrey was asked to meet Damon who had a band called 'The Six Pistons'. The band played a small number of gigs each year including some Grand Prix and corporate work. The band already had a lead singer, but were looking for a second front-man to help out when the other guy was unavailable. After just two rehearsals, the band started gigging. The picture above was taken during the bands performance on BBC TV's 'Cable TV'
.

Since then Aubrey has worked with Fat Barry's Soul band and has recently teamed up with George Michaels producer Gary Bromham for a new album project.

Please scroll down for testimonials and letters from previous clients.

Hi Aubrey!
We simply had to write to you to express our most sincere thanks for the way you performed at our wedding reception on the 27th August 2006.
You were quite simply amazing and without exception, every one of our guests with whom we have spoken since has said how fantastic you were.  Everyone said that they had to keep looking at you as they could not believe that you were actually singing the songs and not playing the original CD’s.
The tracks you selected were perfect for the spread of ages and you somehow managed to keep virtually the whole wedding party on the dance floor all night.
You managed to extend our already perfect day into a perfect night which we all loved and will never forget.
Without trying you gave us an extra special wedding gift of an amazing memory which we will treasure forever.
Thank you once again and we hope to see you again in the future.
Yours gratefully,
Rob & Michelle Davies

"Do you know in all my years as a producer I have never heard anyone with the talent and range you that you have. You blew both me and my wife off our feet. I can't wait to work with you."
Gary Bromham - Producer (George Michael, Sheryl Crow)

"Dear Aubrey,
You sang at my wedding in March. Wanted to (very belatedly) say how fantastic you were. An absolute dream to book and hardly any organising needed by us (luckily!). The singing in the Church made the day feel as though it had a fabulous soundtrack, especially when we watch our DVD. I can't tell you how pleased we were, and how it really made our day extra special. Of course the evening was super, and so many of our guests commented on how great they thought you were. Thank you so much, you were absolutely marvellous and no hint of the prima donna (even when we clearly forgot to organise the refreshments properly) which came as a great relief when we were organising the wedding. Would fully recommend you to anyone - and have done so on those wedding forums full of mental bride to be's. Anyway cheers!
Best wishes Fern
P.S Watched the entire program just to see you, again people congratulated us on our forseight of having a musical masterpiece at the wedding. Cheers for the reflected glory.)"

The following is an email from Kathryn Evans - Co Owner of Blush Baby in Cowbridge, S. Wales. Kathryn is the wife of Rugby Legend Ieuan Evans. I performed at the launch party.

"
Hi Aubrey
Just to say thank you so much for entertaining us at Farthings last night.  You really helped create a lovely atmosphere that was enjoyed greatly by all those who attended.
Thanks again and no doubt we'll see you performing again in the not too distant future.
Kathryn"

Aubrey seeking a manager
The time has come for Aubrey to bite the bullet and take on a manager. The high level of gigs and TV appearances which are constantly increasing means Aubrey is now actively looking for a manager to help him co-ordinate his work. Ideally the person would be South Wales or London based and have experience in managing bands or solo acts. The right person must be highly productive and highly motivated and prepared to push Aubrey to the next level. If you are that person or you know someone that is then please contact us on: 01446 754350

Aubrey in the Guardian & Sunday Express
Yes it's true whilst some of the British newspapers reviews of the BBC TV show 'How to improve your memory' did not exactly set the world on fire, the reviewers did seem to like Aubrey! Here is a snippet of Nancy Banks-Smith review in the Guardian on Thursday 10th August 2006...

"I
did, however, like Aubrey, a singer fondly known in Wales as the Ginger Growler. He couldn't remember the words of his songs and carried them on a surreptitious piece of paper. I believe Dusty Springfield developed those extravagant gestures so she could read the lyrics written on her hands. Come on, Ginger! Give us a burst of Unforgettable."
(Reproduced from the Guardian Web site full link here:
www.Guardian.co.uk
The reviewer for the Sunday Times also referred to Aubrey as 'The next Bryn Terfel'
You can now watch all of the clips from the show in the Audio & Video section of the site.

Bui Doi Audio & Video now in Audio & Video Section
Following a number of requests from people who watched Aubrey on the BBC television program 'How to improve your memory' we have posted up the version that Aubrey recorded on the show and a separate audio version recorded as a result of the show. It's not the best quality, but we promise there will be a better version recorded soon with the help of David Beer (Musical director on the West End versions of 'Fame' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' etc) who accompanied Aubrey on piano during the show. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

See Aubrey perform on national BBC1- Wed August 9th 8pm
Aubrey is one of the people featured on the BBC's 'How to improve your memory' programme which is being shown this Wednesday August 9th at 8pm on BBC1. He will be seen learning a new memory technique to help him learn lyrics and will close the show with a live rendition of 'Bui Doi' a song from Miss Saigon.
Aubrey was followed around for almost a month by a BBC camera crew and ended up singing at the end of the show which was filmed at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Longleat House (Which was re-named 'Memory Mansion' for the event).
Set your TV recorders now for this interesting look at how our memories work and see how Aubrey gets on with the new learning techniques... This is prime time viewing, so tell all your mates!

A rather exciting and new twist is unfolding in Aubrey's musical career. Aubrey is currently recording a number of tracks for release later this year with legendary producer Gary Bromham. Gary has worked with George Michael and has co-written and produced with Sheryl Crow to name but a few.
'I'm really pleased that Gary has agreed to work with me on this project' said Aubrey. 'I've been saying to myself for a while now that 2006 will be the year everything kicks off and this is the first rung of that ladder. Working with Gary is an absolute pleasure - I can't believe how much we have managed to record already!'
Gary's studio is based in West London and has been impressed with Aubrey's output;
'I cannot believe that such a fantastic voice comes out of Aubrey's mouth! I have worked with literally hundreds of artists and Aubrey's talent shines out like a beacon. He obviously has the drive an determination to push himself into the centre stage of the music industry and I believe without a doubt that he will succeed.'
More details about this exciting project will be released soon.
If you would like an advance demo of the recordings please drop us an email:
